Hailing from Rogers, Arkansas, Mary's journey into the world of sewing began at a tender age under the guidance of her grandmother, Francis Ryan. Her passion for the craft blossomed, leading her to embark on a diverse career path that would merge her talents with her academic pursuits.

Throughout her academic journey at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana, Mary embraced a multitude of opportunities, spanning both near and far, to develop her expertise as a costume designer and wardrobe technician. Throughout this experience, she honed her skills in bringing stories to life through meticulously crafted garments, embodying her belief in the power of clothing to enhance narrative.

In 2020, Mary Reed earned her Master's degree in Human and Environmental Science from The University of Alabama, accompanied by a graduate minor in theatre and a certificate in museum studies. During her academic tenure, she assumed the role of Program Development at HERO: Hale Empowerment and Revitalization Organization, a non-profit based in Hale County. In this capacity, Mary spearheaded initiatives focused on employment preparedness and community building, overseeing the implementation of employment classes and managing a thriving thrift shop, which not only generated jobs but fostered a sense of unity within the community.

In addition to her academic pursuits, Mary immersed herself in the world of live entertainment, where she played a pivotal role in orchestrating seamless productions. Her work involved an extensive amount of organization, planning, oversight, and management—skills that proved invaluable in her subsequent endeavors.
